OK, so I have written and deleted two paragraphs/rants. The quick and less annoying version to read amounts to this:

  • For some reason, I’m just feeling all out of sorts lately.

Blah. I’ll do better next post, promise.

It’s weird seeing my hair completely straight after months of not straightening it.

103° today. Just saying because I know you appreciate my Oklahoma weather updates. Honestly, it was way too hot to wear my sweater out. Which is fine because we spent the day locked inside the house eating sandwich squares—peanut butter & jelly for Chris and marmite & butter for me—and watching old episodes of One Tree Hill. Team Peyton! And getting psyched for the new episode of True Blood!  You probably remember this top from this winter look because it’s definitely one of my favorites. I’d wish to have a few more like but too bad All Saints is so dang pricey!

In need of a nice summer drive song? Here’s one I’ve been listening to.

Brrr rabbit, it’s gone cold again! It’s days like today where I’d rather stay home with my pups and bob around in sweatpants, but I had a full plate of things to do/get done. One thing was attending this extra credit presentation over social media and the creation/evolution of the internet. Turned out, it was really interesting. It’s odd to think about how relatively new the internet is (it wasn’t commercialized until the 1990s), especially in my generation. We are all over Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, etc., it’s a bit outrageous!

It’s poopy weather for photo taking (better weather = better lighting) but I had Chris take a quick few shots before I headed onto campus. I actually wear this outfit quite often. I’m surprised it hasn’t already showed up on my blog! This All Saints top is one of my favorite tops for the racer back and scooped neck line plus the screen printed watercolor illustration. And since it was so chilly out, I added a my heavier black snood and my black leg warmers! …and a sloppy up-do!

I’m excited to sit down and check the DVR tonight! We recorded and watched part one & two of this new HBO mini-series called Mildred Pierce. Has anyone else been watching it? It originally caught my eye because it stars both Kate Winslet and Evan Rachel Wood (oh, and Guy Pearce!). But it’s good and something new from all the drabble (aka all the reality shows) I watch. :p

look what you’ve done

Do you remember the band Jet? It was one of the bands I use to overplay in high school. (The other day my brother even showed a terrible, terrible yearbook photo of me and I was wearing their shirt) But it inspired me to pull up some of their music again. I love their song “Look What You’ve Done”.

This outfit is a bit bulky looking but as of recent I have been leaning towards more slouchy fitting clothes. They are more comfortable and I like how they layer. This oatmeal looking shrug is one of the few things I have ever bought from All Saints. Their prices run a bit high but I bought this on sale so it was a good deal. It’s made from wool so it’s very, very warm! I don’t know if you can tell properly from the pictures but the sides are long and can be adjusted (hence the ruffled bunches) while it’s high in the back.

Last night we rented the movie Let Me In and I was jaw-dropped about how much I loved it. It’s difficult to explain without giving away parts but the best I can say it is the most beautiful horror movie. The pace, the accurate details, and compelling characters…Definitely, definitely worth a watch!

Brr, Oklahoma winter wind!
